How to produce TPU coated webbing

TPU coated webbing is the braided polyester webbing outer coated with TPU. Within the TPU on surface, TPU coated webbing is waterproof and wear-proof. To produce TPU coated webbing, SUNMOLIN uses extrusion machine, as which some people call coating machine.

The first step to produce TPU coated webbing is to solve the problem of inner braided webbing. Generally, compared with nylon webbing, within polyester webbing, the TPU coated webbing will have better peel strength. After opting the material of inner webbing, we should control the size of braided webbing. That’s because polyester webbing will shrink when passes through the high temperature machine head.

Secondly, we need to dry the TPU raw material. We also have an essay to talk about why TPU raw material should be dried. If we are going to produce the solid colored TPU webbing, color master-batch should also be prepared.

When all the materials are ready, then we can start to produce TPU coated webbing by coating machine. During the coating process, we will use ice water to cool down the outer coated TPU. That’s a necessary process to make TPU adheres to polyester webbing and finalize the shape. Besides, the parameter setting may change depends on different types of TPU raw material and different requires of final appearance.
