Production process of coated webbing

Relying on the good function and performance: wear-resistant, stain-resistant, waterproof, odorless, comfortable to the touch, beautiful in appearance, and strong in force, coated webbing has begun to appear in our lives in recent years. Although many people have used coated webbing, they do not know what coated webbing is however.

 

Coated webbing is a mixture of plastic and webbing. Generally, there are three types of coated webbing, one is TPU coated webbing, another is PVC coated webbing, and the other is silicone webbing. But TPU and PVC one occupy the main market share of coated webbing. Silicone coated webbing is the new. Next, I will introduce to you the production process of TPU coated webbing. (The process of PVC one is the same, but the raw material is different)

 

1. Prepare the webbing. The webbing must be ironed at high temperature to ensure that the dimensional stability of the webbing is maintained during processing. At the same time, please note that the front and back sides of the webbing must always face one direction and be placed in order. Because the webbing is easy to twist and knot, feeding the webbing from the front and back in sequence can prevent uneven feeding.

 

2. Dry the prepared TPU raw materials to remove the moisture in the raw materials. TPU raw materials can easily absorb moisture. If it is not dried, TPU will generate bubbles during the production process, and some lines will show during the drawing process. These lines are caused by the bubbles before traction. The lines will affect the surface effect of TPU coated webbing. In order to better handle the moisture in the raw materials, workers generally need to heat treat the raw materials at a high temperature of 110°C for at least 2 hours.

 

3. Modulate the cooling machine, which contains cooling water. Set the water temperature to 10°C and let the cooling water circulate into the cooling water tank. The cooling water tank can better shape the product. The better the water cooling effect, the better the molding effect on the surface of the product; if something wrong during the cooling process, watermarks and water spots will appear on the surface of coated webbing. Don’t look down on these watermarks and water spots, they are prone to become scratches and melt marks before the coated webbing is formed.

 

4. Adjust the host temperature. Generally, workers set the host temperature based on the TPU raw material. The set temperature is 5°C-10°C lower than the temperature provided by the raw material. After the temperature rises, the rotation speed of the host also slowly increases from low or medium to high. Before the rotation speed increases, the staff must pull the webbing into the webbing oven, pull it in from the mold mouth, and pass through the water tank. Let the webbing move forward at a constant speed, turn on the main machine, and let the TPU raw materials and webbing be extruded simultaneously. In this way, you can get a complete coated webbing.
